Free-Standing Combination Cooler and Sub-Freezer Unit

This 15’x61’ through-wall Polar King walk-in cooler, freezer, and dry storage combo unit was custom-built for an elementary school in Seymour, Indiana. This walk-in unit offers both cooler and freezer capabilities as well as a dry storage compartment that features a Bard System temperature regulator.

Dry Storage Compartment

In addition to refrigerated storage solutions, Polar King offers Dry Storage Walk-in and Trailer units. Constructed with our seamless fiberglass design, each unit is NSF approved and features an anti-microbial finish to ensure a sanitary environment.

While this compartment would be considered dry storage, our client elected to install a Bard System. This type of system is commonly used in commercial and industrial settings, such as schools, hospitals, and factories, to regulate the temperature of large spaces.

The system also includes ductwork, which distributes the heated or cooled air throughout the unit. Bard Systems for heating and cooling are designed to be energy-efficient and reliable, with features such as programmable thermostats, variable speed fans, and high-efficiency filters.

Modularm 75LC Multi-Monitor with Data Logging

To further control and observe internal temperature, our client required a monitoring and data logging system. The Modularm 75LC Multi-Monitor allows users to monitor the temperature of a walk-in cooler or freezer. This digital thermometer features adjustable high and low-temperature settings that can be read in both Fahrenheit or Celsius for optimal versatility. It features a range of -40 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 to 52 degrees Celsius with an accuracy of +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit. For easy operation, this thermometer boasts a user-friendly 3-button interface and a digital display.

Nexel Poly Z Brite Shelving

Our client also requested shelving throughout the interior of the unit. We installed Nexel Poly Z Brite Shelving throughout the interior. At Polar King, we assemble all the shelving and place it into the unit, saving both time and labor once the unit arrives.

Standard Equipment

Other standard equipment on this application includes a 25-year insulation warranty, exterior HASP lock, pre-charged refrigerant, and antimicrobial interior finish.
