Polar King International announces that multiple employees from the company and Thermodyne Foodservice Products have successfully completed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 refrigerant certification training, further strengthening the companies’ technical capabilities and commitment to refrigeration excellence.
“Our goal is to ensure our technicians have the knowledge and credentials necessary to support our customers at the highest level,” said Polar King Service Manager Gary Cooper. “The dedication shown by these employees throughout the training process demonstrates their commitment to professional development and to providing exceptional service in the field for our customers.”
Polar King Employees Earn Advanced EPA Refrigerant Certification
Four employees achieved Universal Certification status, the highest EPA Section 608 credential available: Drew Fackler, Duane Keough, Donald Tippmann and Michael Tippmann.
Additionally, Curtis Rayford and Jerry Refeld successfully passed the Core, Type I and Type II certification sections. Kam Macon passed the Core and Type I sections, while Oscar Perez successfully completed the Core section during his first certification attempt.
The certification process included a comprehensive 100-question closed-book examination consisting of Core, Type I, Type II and Type III sections. Candidates must first pass the Core section and then successfully complete one or more certification categories to earn EPA credentials for those service levels.
Participants completed several classroom sessions covering refrigerant handling, servicing procedures, environmental regulations and industry best practices before taking the EPA Section 608 certification examination.
Because Polar King refrigeration systems primarily fall within the Type I and Type II certification categories, the training program focused on helping technicians achieve those service qualifications. Employees will have opportunities to complete additional review sessions and retake individual certification sections as they continue advancing their credentials.
Each successful participant will receive an official certification certificate from the Esco Institute.
