All Polar King refrigeration units are National Sanitation Foundation approved, utilizing an antimicrobial gel-coat finish on the interior that inhibits the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, mold, and mildew.

Walk-in Coolers and Freezers

Polar King walk-ins are less than half the weight of refrigerated containers, allowing faster, hassle-free delivery without the need for special equipment. Our walk-ins feature an easy-open door, unlike refrigerated containers with cumbersome cargo doors that make getting in and out difficult and time-consuming. And because Polar King coolers and freezers are the most energy-efficient walk-ins on the market, they use less energy and cost less to operate.

Refrigerated Trailers

Polar King distributes both freezer trailers and cooler trailers to meet your on-the-go cooling needs. Constructed with a seamless fiberglass design, these compact units provide a temperature range of 0°F to 50°F, are all-electric, and require only 110V and 15 amps. Each trailer features 54-inch reinforced doors, four-inch walls, and a pallet duty floor. The actual cooling of the trailer is achieved using a GOVI arktik 2000US series refrigeration unit.

Trailers are available to lease in two standard models, each equipped with a 2 5/16″ coupler:

  • 6’x12’ (500 cubit feet)
  • 6’x16’. (600 cubit feet)

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I get a unit?

Units are typically available for a fairly quick turnaround. In some instances they can be delivered within 12-24 hours depending on unit availability at depot location and delivery schedule availability.

Can I rent shelving or exterior food cart ramps?

Select locations offer diamond tread ramps and Metro epoxy-coated shelving. Not available in all areas.

Who sets the unit in place once it arrives to my location?

Typically, all deliveries include the service of setting the unit in place and are handled by a Polar King employee or one of our contracted freight carriers. However, each delivery is unique, please be sure to speak to your representative about other possible needs such as forklift and forklift operators.

Is the unit ready to operate when it arrives?

Yes, simply supply power to the unit and it is ready to run. No refrigeration work is required on-site.

What type of electrical connection do I need for the walk-in units? Can your units be powered by a generator?

Both the cooler and freezer walk-ins require 30amp service, 208-230volt, single-phase. Some units are appropriate for use with a generator; however it is critical to first communicate with a Polar King expert prior to this type of use.

In accordance with your local laws, Polar King does not provide electrical services and recommends the use of a licensed electrician to bring power to the rental unit.

Are there any restrictions on the type of product I can store in your units?

Yes, product storage limitations do exist because of refrigeration capacity. It is important to communicate your usage intentions with your Polar King representative.

How do you handle repairs if I have a problem with my rental unit?

In the unlikely event a service call is required, we have excellent relationships with refrigeration service companies throughout North America and also offer a 24-hour service hot line. We are a family-owned company that takes great pride in customer service and our reputation.
